Unfortunally, there's no clip available for this song, so I created one using various stills from the 50's and 60's, except one of the 70's that Neil appears with John Lennon (that I thought it MUST be here) and two from today, showing how he is nowadays. Hope you like it.

  • I love the song "The Diary", and I love the story about the song. He wrote the song and gave the song to someone else to sing and it was to be on the A side of the record, but they put it on the B side. Neil was upset, and decided to do his own version of the song and put it on the A side and it was a big HIT and.... this started his singing career!!! Neil Sedaka is the BEST!!!

  • @KissMeQuk Yes, the group was Little Anthony and The Imperials. And Neil was right, their version of The Diary is terrible, although the group had good moments, like Tears on My Pillow and Going Out of My Head, to name a few.

  • La canzone dei miei 14 anni! E che magone quando l'ascoltavo!!!

  • Wonderful song and great video.

  • Fantastic job with the video. You'll note that the song starts just like "Tears On My Pillow" by Little Anthony and the Imperials.

  • This is one of my favorite Neil Sedaka songs. I just saw him on TV doing a promo for the "teen years CD's" and he looks like he didn't age a bit...dunno how old the video was but shouldn't be that old I reckon. Another group sings this (Japanese) called the "Grayhounds" and they sound very good. They sing the "oldies" and have three of Neils songs listed. Too bad that the kids now-a-days don't listen to this great music that we used to listen to ! ! !

  • great song XD

  • @Romulien Les Gendarmes have done a whole album consisting of many Neil Sedaka songs in French. They are really great!

  • Les Gendarmes (a yeye group from Quebec) has made a french cover of this song Ne Me Quitte Pas.

  • @rubbing2001 You didn't have this homosexuality crap back in the 50's and early 60's. Those who tell you that there were homosexuals in those days are lying to you. The 50's and early 60's were better times than today. Neil Sedaka was and is a wholesome man, a great man, a great husband and father and would be and is in every era. Just to clarify, homosexuality is a sickness and has nothing to do with vocal tone, mannerisms, gentleness.............Many homosexuals come across say like OJ Simpson
