  • For all those who think beauty implies skinny, Ms. Holliday seems to trash that assumption. Skinny, the critics called her "delapidated" and lamented her state of well-being. And in fact, they were right. She was sick.

  • Wonderful music, marvelous musicians, divine and sinful Billy Holliday! ! I am always on the verge of tears when I hear her inimitable voice. No one can sing like her. And her touching friendship with Lester Young...
