One question I have:

With the new site, will patrons be able to return non-Kindle books before they expire from the we page, or will this still not be possible without downloading it to a device first?

Hi, could you just confirm - as long as a user is reading an ebook on Read Now, they'll be able to pick up where they left on their tablet? Does this apply to eReaders as well?

Hi. Yes, OverDrive READ will automatically sync between devices, so if you leave off reading at page 79 on your computer's web browser, you can log in to your library account on your tablet and resume reading at page 79. OverDrive READ works on any device with a modern web browser. E-Ink readers like the first-generation Kindle do not have modern web browsers, so you'll still have to download the eBooks on those devices. Best, Mike

In the old version, when on the 'newly added' page, the titles stayed in the same order. I could just remember the first title on the screen, so when I checked back to see if anything new had been added, I could tell by whether a new titles was in that spot. Now though, the new stuff seems to shuffle every time I check the page so its hard to tell and I've gone through the list of same books several times. Is there anyway to make the view stay static or at least see the date a title was added?

I have been disappointed with the search function for "help". Because I did not use the word "audiobook" (I had put in "e-book) I could not find any information of how to return books prior to the due date. I think "return" should be the key word for accessing that information. And nowhere except when I finally found the correct link did it indicate that WMA books cannot be returned. Why is there no "return" button that is obvious to a patron?

Will this be taking the place of an Adobe Digital Edition e-reader or will people still have that option for downloading as well?

I also work in a library and hold e-clinics. Some of the help pages from Overdrive are very outdated. For example. the earlier version of ADE is still in the instructions instead of ADE 2.0.

I am very disappointed in the new Overdrive platform. Instead of "making things easier", you have made searching more difficult. There is no longer a summary story without having to click into each title; I now must judge each book by its cover! Also, there is no way to filter / identify books I have previously checked out. I used to accomplish this by seeing which titles I have previously rated, but the "My Rating" is no longer visible only the overall rating. Very frustrating!

I am sorry but the new format makes it very hard to see a books title. Sometimes the title is hidden under the edg with format type. insted of taking the title to next line it hides it. Just is a pain less you know the book your looking for. I like to just browse till I see somthing good But this makes it very hard. I am not happy about new layout. Forget it if your visually impaired. Also if you're looking for book in series you can't tell witch book it is. book 1 2 or 3 etc...

I miss the short descriptions in the search. I do not like the tile view.

The HTML is so much cleaner now. Though you are still using inline script tags mid document. The cleaner HTML will make writing the selectors easier (omg did it use to be hard).

Also, 1) you can no longer sort overdrive classic by release date, 2) some searches causes overdrive classic to die, 3) searching overdrive classic retail is broken.

Mike, how about an option to view eBooks as lists like the previous generation instead of graphic intensive pages? There's no option to search for books in a series anymore either. I found it painfully frustrating navigating the slow loading pages using high speed broadband. Why do you keep deleting my comments, are you that insecure about someone who isn't happy with your product? I'm not posting spam but am an avid reader dissatisfied with overdrive & trying to get answers/options.
