I'm a gymnast in Arizona I'm a level 9 and I don't think this should have gymnastics in the name I've been doing gym my whole life and I know RG is hard and wow but I've never seen anything alike but the leaps and the floor and some turns and ballet, RG is hard but so is gymnastics but I think gymnastics is harder.......:D

@TheEden1291 i agree, RG is really difficult :s

She was doing ballet on the beginning. My dance teacher was right when she said ballet helps with everything ;)
-
@TheEden1291 ok
-
@Yuri92001 I said also, so If ballet is difficult, then RG is more difficult.
from Experience.

@TheEden1291 Well....no it isn't classical ballet no. But it certainly has similar if not many of the same elements. That....I never knew what turnout was until I watched a rythmic gymnast :)

@clairebear199577cows Why not give it a try? Go to some club and take beginner level classes and see how far you can go. Even if you don't get to the Olympics, you'll have fun. It will help if you also train in ballet some. I am a dancer, and I want to start RG when I live near a club. :)
and i thought I was flexible...

*sigh* people who say ballet isn't hard are people who don't understand ballet. it looks easy because it's meant to look easy, not because it IS easy! The training regiment of a professional ballet dancer is similar to that of a professional gymnast (not necessarily in the same way!) but it takes special skill to make something that is so physically demanding look effortless. Anyway, what is the point in arguing over which is harder? They're both hard. But different. And beautiful. Simple. x
