How to break a Tungsten Carbide Ring using a vice.
www.isisjewellers.co.uk

If for any reason a tungsten carbide ring gets stuck on the finger, the only way to remove it is to compress it in some kind of vice. As you can see it doesn't bend very much thus preventing further damage to the finger

  • This is tungsen carbide and if you hit it with anything you can shatter them. Even if yuo drop one on a ceramic tiled floor it could smash. I use tungsten carbide end mills for milling and if you drop these they can be damaged very easily.

This stuff is very hard but brittle

  • what happens if you hit it with a diamond hammer. Like the once for breaking windows?

  • The difference in Tungsten rings is how much cobalt is is in it. More cobalt means weaker the ring. High end tungsten rings are cobalt free.

  • No problem, try it on a finger it breaks so easy. Look at the other videos.

Tungsten carbide is also referred as a "Ceramic material" It is the most brittle metal and is not solid

  • Are we sure its tungsten carbide or just tungsten? Big difference

  • tungsten rings tend to be removed by tools like vice grips.
