HP Compaq CQ50-215NR first look

With a glossy lid and relatively trim profile, the Compaq Presario CQ50-215nr looks more expensive than its $549 price tag. Unfortunately, looks aren't everything: the Presario CQ50-215nr couldn't fulfill the laptop's upscale promise on our performance and battery benchmarks, in part due to its low-cost Athlon processor. We could forgive pokey performance if it came at a dirt-cheap price, but we also tested a $400 Acer Aspire 5735-4624 that outperformed the Presario CQ50-215nr. And if you're willing to spend $649, you'll get better performance and battery life as well as a more thorough feature set from a Dell Inspiron 1525 or Gateway T-6330U. We'd recommend any of these other three systems over the Compaq Presario CQ50-215nr.

This laptop is horrible, I got one for xmas a year and a half ago and it has had overheating problems since i opened it due to the wierd fan placement. I tried to get a top of the line laptop cooling dock for it and it did not help at all. if you place this laptop on a flat service the fan on the bottom has nowhere to push the air so it gets super hot. My video card just fried due to the heat. on the sticker it says built to last... its a lie. Buy something else

Do not buy this laptop if refurbished, it is not reliable! My display and audio just went out in less than 6 months. Before hand it had lots of graphical errors. Do not buy!

Acer is much better!

@eltjias indeed my overheated but I think it was a hardware failure which is rare in most cases I just so happened to win the overheating dead laptop award that day

@c0ldelement I dont agree this computer is to weak to play modern day games without lagg.I got one of these computers and they get weird sometimes and get overheatingproblems.

forgot to mention the dual core and graphics card thats on board.... I used that laptop for all my gaming and it rocks.. fuck that bitch

No to mention the fan is alway running. It run hot as hell.

Done some video editing with it. Powerful enough, but during encoding de CPU went to a freaky 98C
