Adding a Profile Picture UPDATE - YouTube Help Center

A few people have reported having trouble with the feature again... someone suggested to me that he got the feature to work by first choosing the default 'Gray Man' icon, then trying to upload your picture.

This is an update to my previous video about how to upload a profile picture to your YouTube channel. While the information is still relevant, YouTube has redesigned the Account page, so there are a few changes.

i still have an account with an animated gif as a profile pic. that's not possible anymore, right?

@diversereel Yeah, you won't be able to add any new animated profile pictures.

first off you forgot to mention the fact that you have to click "account settings" first in order to get to profile setup, which is just to the left of "my channel". even after uploading it, it can typically take up to 6 hours for you diplay picture to appear. and even still some people may need to try re-uploading it a few times.

@cynthiacouto The current user interface for account settings looked a bit different when I originally made this video. The part about waiting for 6 hours was mentioned in the original video that this video is an update to.

hey your profille channel has a link with a picture how did you get that???? i dont have that i only have a profille picture

@jimmyangelramirez Are you talking about the banner at the top of my channel or the image on the left with the Xbox Avatar? Those are Partner Branding Options, and unfortunately, not everyone has access to those.

@ZnCspecial this could be because at the bottom of the upload box there's an option to use default image, and it may be selected accidentaly. double check that. and if that's not the case then i'm not quite sure.
