This video is just a humble tribute to one of my fav bands - Cowboy Junkies. The song is not originally their's, but they've made a hell of a job on it. Hope you like it.

LYRICS:
My days, they are the highway kind
They only come to leave
But the leavin' I don't mind
It's the comin' that I crave

Pour the sun upon the ground
Stand to throw a shadow
Watch it grow into a night
And fill the spinnin' sky

Time among the pine trees
It felt like breath of air
Usually I just walk these streets
And tell myself to care

Sometimes I believe me
And sometimes I don't hear
Sometimes the shape I'm in
Won't let me go

Well, I don't know too much for true
But my heart knows how to pound
My legs know how to love someone
My voice knows how to sound

Shame that it's not enough
Shame that it is a shame
Follow the circle down
Where would you be?

You're the only one I want now
I never heard your name
Let's hope we meet some day
If we don't it's all the same

I'll meet the ones between us
And be thinkin' 'bout you
And all the places I have seen
And why you where not there

  • @mardon111 I totallay disagree....This version has alot of soul to it!! Good Job Cowboy Junkies!!!!

  • A Tribute To Townes Van Zandt

  • impossible no one is darker than townes

  • @opiumrebel

btw it's even a bit darker than Townes (Watch the Townes DVD live in Amsterdam, where he makes fun of the Cowboy Junkies in terms of writing sad songs, plus Margo and the whole Band are the sweetest people ever to grace this earth, after a two hours set, Margo came out shaking every hand, taking ever Photograpg, and signing everything.)

  • @mardon111

wow, harsh criticsm in the age of American Idol.

Now one can replace Townes, but I'm glad those people are around. Just another......... how many people dare to cover the Master.

  • fantastic

  • Nice cover(Like a warm fuzzy blanket) of a great song by a very good musical force from the Great White North, Hell Yeah I love Margo Timmins and the rest of Cowboy Junkies, and this is a very original arrangement of Townes Van Zandt! SO THANKS TO: MysticWindENT, You Tube, and Townes Van Zandt, for the upload, the light and space, and the composition of a good tune! God Save and Long Live Cowboy Junkies!

  • fantastic

  • Brilliant video, amazing song and wonderful cover. Best thing I've seen on youtube for ages! Have a brilliant, amazing and wonderful week!|

  • @mardon111 His name was John Townes Van Zandt, people that knew him called him John or John Townes (what his mom called him). I never addressed him as anything, I was too awestruck, but we did share a table at a bar in Austin once with about 6 other people including Guy and Susanna Clark
