James Baldwin v. William F. Buckley Jr. Debate

I must have missed the part where Buckley spoke. Baldwin seems to have a bit of an accent as well, sort of like Buckley's. Poor fellow, no control over his own life at all. I'm surprised the white racists even let him speak.

@somnambulist81 This black man was brilliance on two feet! during his time intellect was the common string that held together great black thinkers and that string could be found in those who came before and after. Think about this, Malcom, Muslim; Martin, Christian;Huey communist/atheist,WEB Duboise communist and likely agnostic at best; Adam Cayton Powell, Christian; Baldwin, atheist. All could talk on the facts and move forward from there. James, like many blacks, r the best america can offer.

@jpmhitachi the intelligent people of cambrige laughed at Buckley's attempt to sound "eloquent" proving as I have said to so many, american whites don't even have fans amongst their white counterparts across the "geat lake".

Buckley postured as an intellectual -cultivating the external trappings of same: the British accent, the darting tongue, the twinkle eye (so the American audience -the only such in the world who mistook him for an intellectual- would be alerted to the extra super special cleverness of what he had just said prior to twinkling) etc.

As if further evidence of his intellectual vacuity was needed, he obliged us with coming out on the side of creationism in the debate against Evolution.
