Filmed 19/12/08. Carrying on from Stafford, we head to Tamworth which is a high level station for Arriva CrossCountry services between Derby and Birmingham, and is also a low level for the West Coast Mainline. Both levels get plenty of action, and not many stopping services but it is an ok place to get too. The station being situated near the town is also ideal for food and drinks, as the station is unstaffed and unretailed. Thanks to Dave Holden, Dave Hennessey (theamateurbasher) and also to Victorialine67 and yodacolin who we met whilst there.

  • Yes since Virgin's Modernisation Plan was complete, the 'slow' lines were increased too 100mph as the fast lines remain at 125mph

  • Christ, the freights on the "slow" lines are going at full speed.

When I was there back in 06/07 they used to slow down to about 25mph on the slow lines.

They have really increased the speed since then obviously

  • Cheers pal!

  • Great vid, really enjoyed that thanks.
