Though this arrangement is for the Tabernacle Choir, the melody and words are of "Quelle est cette odeur agréable?", a 17th century French carol whose original composer is unknown. I am always touched when I hear such a beautiful piece of music attributed to an anonymous source, because I wonder about the life of the person who chose to leave something so precious behind, yet never sought fame or credit for this timeless gift to mankind.
Wonderful voices and instruments. I have replayed many times.

I must say, I have to sit down when I hear this hymn. What a beautiful piece! The right combination of the Tabernacle, musicians and music. Wow!

We've been singing this with our (smaller) choir and it is a brilliant piece of music - fantastic performance here!!
