Golden, CO celebrated it's 150th birthday on June 12th. There was a parade, and Anderson United, with the help of lots of friends and lots of gold body and spray paint, presented the Seventies - from the Grateful Dead to Disco. Representing all the best fashion, music and attitude from the Beatles' 1970 Abbey Road to The Clashs 1979 London Calling, Anderson Uniteds float highlights the colorful character and sounds of a decade that took Golden from the end of the free love 1960s and ushered it into the go-go 1980s. Aus float is on its way to the storied and epic concert venue Red Rocks - located in Goldens backyard - its VW van may be broken, but in the spirit of a determined City Aus float pushes on. Here are some excerpts.
