Here's a video of how we do Mackenzie's trach care and change solo. She was quite cooperative up until the end when she wanted to lay back down and finish watching the backyardigans instead of sitting so I can finish strapping the ties. :o) When she's behaving we like to take things slow like in the video, although we rarely get the opportunity and have to whip through it. :op
Seeing videos like this is very helpful as i'm one of the carers of a 6 y/o girl with a trach. But she's a little less cooperative. Still haven't experienced anything yet, but i like watching how other people do it and how the kids react to it so i won't be that "stressed" when the time comes. =)
