If anyone was wondering, this scene is a tribute to Mobile Suit Gundam where a Zaku II burns up in the atmosphere.

Poor little bastard. Kind of lame and pointless that they cut it out since there's still a lot of other violent scenes.

I think they just removed the dialogue. The guy in the suit exploding is still there. its just that it passes by so quickly for most people they don't even realize they saw it.
