The EU has been sold to Britain as our best hope for the future . . . But behind the scenes, has another, more unsettling agenda been ... Tout » unfolding? The European Economic Community (EEC) began for Britain as a free-trade agreement in 1972. Today's European Union is well on its way to becoming a federal superstate, complete with one currency, one legal system, one military, one police force – even its own national anthem. In this shocking new documentary featuring EU insiders and commentators, independent author Phillip Day covers the history and goals of the European Union, as well as the disturbing, irrevocable implications this new government has for every British citizen. Whether the viewer is for or against Britain's participation, this film asks the troubling questions the mainstream media has refused to confront

  • The destruction of democracy in Europe is very hard to watch.

Tomorrow will see people from all over Germany meeting in Berlin to protest against the Lisbon/constitution Putsch attempt. We in Germany will be showing our solidarity with the freedom loving people of Ireland.

We too wish to keep our constitution, our own laws, our own democracy and are unwilling to give them up to an out-sourced "democracy" in Brussels and a commission of over-paid,unelected civil servants.

  • F*ck the EU. It must go down, and down quickly. No more bailouts, let the Euro rot away, just like this circus with clowns and their thousands of criminal laws... It is a complete and utter disgrace. Poor Europe, with it's haughty clowns and idiots, which are destroying the whole of Europe.

Kick these clowns out, no more money to the European Union. Let it rot.

  • of course it is not convenient for the British but for the world it is convenient UK joins.

If now, the EU is considereded as an empire, it is built in the frame of other similars joined countries giving socializations to their guvernments. Socialism, which is a forbidden word in UK, is the buffer that controls the equidity of this called 'empire'. For UK, the buffer does'nt exist, making the rich richest and poor poorer. UK is also an empire to the open seas, but witouth control and equidity.

  • I'm from Germany and the EU seems rediculous to me as well

It is not like we are trying to rule britain, we are not after the british economy (our own is way stronger anyway) but we are about to go on paying for the lazyness and stupidity of the whole of south europe together with britain and france.

And our people loses the control over it's own government, we are ruled by ppl who were appointed and not elected. this is a dictatorship

  • Since Portugal entered in the EU the country lost more than 50% ot its own industry, the country were paid by EU to stop producing, fishermans were paid to destroy their boats, and with the restricted rules of fishing imposed by Brussels a lot of fishermans decided to destroy their boats, the same with the farms, we are now a very dependent country.

  • @thiscantbesustained

Like I said, we will have common politics in security, trade, foreign affairs, military, but, nobody can oblige a romanian farmer to work like a german farmer. That is imposible, in next one hundred years.I think you know the west-europe countries are more technological advanced then est-europe countries.

  • @thiscantbesustained

U.S.A. Constitution proclaime you are one nation, that why your states have no own identity, and its autonomy diluted in time.

  • @thiscantbesustained

No, it is not same think, in E.U. competition between diferrent nations will remain, we can not erase our traditions and our diferrent languages, even the common language will be english(probably). But I think every state will have its strong interest in this union, and federals can not eradicate that.

  • @cornel10 Well yes and no. The EU will basically turn Europe into today's United States. Theoretically each American state is supposed to have representatives at the County/State level and at the federal level. What's wrong with that? Theoretically nothing BUT our federal government has gotten so bloated and so corrupt that the states lose more and more power every year. The same will happen in Europe

  • cornel10

    Sort of.

What we have is a union of states. In which the power is divided into 3 seperate boddies

    The President

    The House n Senate

    and the Supreme court

Now the states regulate themselves in matters of state but the Fed runs the nation.

  • hey, let me tell you something, rules of democracy will work in E.U. like in every western country , your country have his own euro parliamentaries in euro parliament, the voice of your peoples will be heard in parliament, isn't??
