http://www.10questions.com/?l=ccforum&ans=quest7display=&search=lunch... go here to vote for this question if you want it asked live to our next President!--Hello Republican Candidates! My name is Zack Carroll from Chicago IL and this is to all of you.

Religion, I don't see it as just a personal comfort to people anymore, I see it as a power used by rulers to control their people and deny many of them rights others are granted. Our current President has proved this can even be done in America, regardless of what the Constitution even says.

So my question, will you practice your religion *without* imposing it on the American people, or has America unofficially become a theocracy?Thank you.

  • As an atheist, by what standard do you subject right and wrong? If you are saying that it is wrong for a president to impose his religion on you, by what standard or "truth" do you make that claim? If there is no final arbitrator (God) everything becomes relative. Therefore, it would not be "wrong" for the President to impose his religious views on you.

  • Well we have a seperation of Church and State don't we?

  • Well, as a man who is a believer and follower of christ, I can agree with you that I want religion out of government. I would love everyone to have a relationship with their creator, but imposing my beliefs legally on another human is SO WRONG, and not a very good way of spreading faith. I am terrified of the way the republicans are inching the USA towards a theocracy like Iran, and in a theocracy, the only thing that can happen is the oppression of free will.

  • "If there is no final arbitrator (God) everything becomes relative." BULLCRAP! I don't know any other group of people that cherishes their own ignorance and stupidity as much as the religious nutjobs of the monotheistic desert-dogmas! Christianity is a plague on the mind and soul, as is Islam and Judaism.

  • @292live Mortality and religion are not the same thing.

  • So whos gonna be the new hitler and kill all the chirstians? lol

  • America IMO is a Theocracy. They enforce Christian beliefs and ideals in all areas of life and in the laws that control our actions. BTW, evolution has been proven time and time again to be true on many different levels, and is taught in colleges as the standard. There is cold, hard evidence that proves this reality, while creationism is no more than a story out of "Christian Mythology" (also known as the Bible) and has absolutely no physical evidence to prove itself. It's time we outgrew religi

  • 70% of Swedens population is Atheist... I never thought that any country would have a majority atheist population...

  • yes it is

  • I know this is an old post but it's hilarious that you make it sound as if Creationism is the dominant belief being crammed down the throat of every kid in school when evolution is the one being taught to kids and those people are totally against the mention of creationism in a classroom. If you guys even believed in a hell you would like nothing more than creationists to go there. I do know about evolution and I still think it's a lie. Since you seem to know so much then educate me.

  • yeah in my school they used to have a school wide prayer during announcments but now they only have a moment of silence

  • I wish there were much more Christians that hold the more Christ-like view you seem to have. I'm not a Christian, but I've read some of the Bible. Jesus was a guy who said his Kingdom is not of this world. People, especially Christians in my opinion, need to understand that there is a difference be.ween heaven and earth. Its only too bad that we have come to a place where many Christians are trying to use the religion to divide and conquer.
