Only Mr. Whipple could make toilet paper commercials fun. Joining him is Harlem Globetrotter Meadowlark Lemon.

  • Here's a blurb from Wikipedia that will shed light on Mr Whipple's change of heart on Charmin Squeezing..."In the late 1970s and early 1980s, a competing grocer named Mr. Hoffmeier came along, who encouraged his customers to squeeze the Charmin, and scolded Whipple on his hypocrisy. By the late 1980s, Mr. Whipple was encouraging customers who weren't buying Charmin to squeeze it. One commercial featured him using a fishing rod to place the product in a skeptic's shopping cart."

  • "Mr. Whipple" was an RAF fighter pilot during the Battle of Brittain. I'm glad he was $ successful.

  • @bobcrunch, good info. The actor, Dick Wilson (stage name), led an interesting life. Check him out at Wikipedia!

  • Fantastic Charmin commercial I enjoyed watching.

  • @MrDeCorey, glad you found it!

  • A 58 year old man with a toilet paper squeezing fetish?....Wouldn't make the airwaves in 2012.

  • What is it??? Its freaking toilet paper, Aint ya ever used it? No, I use my hand its cheaper.

My ass? I dunno, squeeze it?

  • "the squeezing gets you.

the softness keeps you." haha ....boobs

  • "Mr. Whipple" was played by actor Dick Wilson, a character actor who also played a recurring role on the television series Bewitched. Between 1964 and 1985, Wilson appeared as Whipple in more than 500 commercials for Charmin. Playing this role allowed Wilson the luxury of working only 12 days per year, while earning an annual salary of $300,000. Dick Wilson died of natural causes on November 19, 2007, at the age of 91, in California.

  • @mythmanjay It's because he was scared of the black buy.

  • Love the look Whipple gives when he asks, "Is it soft?"
