Is the image quality at least as good as standard non-hi def dvd?

Not sure about movies on laptop. Haven't tried yet. Also haven't really tried to do widescreen. The quality isn't bad. The further back you sit the better. Just like any tv.

Do you notice alot of pixels when sitting, say, 10 feet from it?

not to bad, get what you pay for though, its a fairly cheap projector.

But the resolution output of the projector is slightly higher than normal DVD. How could it not be at least as good as that?

Was the picture noticable pixellated? How do you select widescreen? How do movies from a laptop look? sorry for all the questions.
