From the 1870's until F.D.R became Pres, 99.9% of Black Americans voeted Republican.The KKK tried to stop that by keeping them away from the voting booth by intimidation, Jim Crow Laws or by bribing them to vote dem. And those three thingst come from writings by the Klan in their mission statements. The differance w/ the Dem party now, is that it is made up mainly of socialist which is a whole new debate.

Every civil rights bill ever passed was by Republicans, and overwhelmingly voted against by Democrats. The great civil rights bill signed by President Johnson, was brought to him by a Republican congress and senate. The same bill that Republican President Esienhower brought to a democratic congress and senate that voted it down, and who lead the campain to vote it down, Johnson.
