Get Lost in Loudoun: Hunting the Gray Ghost

"Hunting the Gray Ghost": Mystery surrounds the final episode of "Get Lost in Loudoun." This year marks the 150th anniversary of the start of the American Civil War, and our challengers find themselves in the middle of Loudoun's Civil War experience at Mount Zion Church, near Aldie. Historian Rich Gillespie tells the group why Loudoun, and this church, were so important during the War: it was the gateway to "Mosby's Confederacy." The area was named for Col. John Singleton Mosby, a Confederate partisan ranger who operated in the area, wreaking havoc on Union outposts and supply lines, and disrupting communication. His clandestine moves struck fear into the hearts of Federal troops and earned him the nickname, the "Gray Ghost of the Confederacy." Mount Zion was the scene of Mosby's first rendezvous with his men, and the site of one of Mosby's most dashing victories. The competition for our teams is to find the "Gray Ghost." To do so, they don Union uniforms and search for clues. Before they find their first clue, they are paid a rare visit from the "Gray Ghost," and then he disappears! Once they find their clues, they're off to Middleburg in their Mini Coopers. They stop at the historic Red Fox Inn, itself a headquarters and hospital during the Civil War, and then head back to Aldie where their journey concludes at another Mosby haunt, Aldie Mill. Will they find Mosby? Watch to find out!
