In June 2008 Eric and Barbara Simon first attended a Indian Church of Christ service at Nainital by accident! They were there for their family vacation and were staying at the local YMCA in Bhimtal. That morning the Nainital church had a special service, also attended by the Moradabad church, which was held in the same YMCA. The guest speaker was Mark Templer as the Templer family also happened to be in Nainital for their family vacation. As the Simon family got ready to got out for the day it started raining. Seeing them hang around on the veranda, disappointed by the rain, Shammi Singh and Badri Prasad approached them and persuaded them to join them for the worship service. They did.

Few days later Badri persuaded Gimms to come visit the Simon family at their home in IP Extension, Delhi. Eventually the first Bible study was done on 7th July 2008. Barbara was raised up as a good Catholic and Eric was a committed member of the CNI church. As they continued to study the Bible they covered various theological topics thoroughly and had numerous appointments. Gimms, Wendy, Mangalnathan and Flora continued to reach out to the Simons and studied the Bible with them. Slowly their commitment to the fellowship began to increase and they grew closer to the disciples and the fellowship. In mid 2009 the Bible studies were completed and time was given to them to think over all what they had learned. They needed more time and were not sure. 100% commitment to God was the biggest challenge. Eric kept asking for more time as he said he does not want to turn back once he starts on this journey.

Then on 20th Dec 2009 after the Sunday service the Simons approached Gimms and said that they were really missing the Bible studies and felt like something was missing in their lives. Gimms immediately fixed an appointment for the next day to study the Bible further. The HOLY SPIRIT study was done and it became clear to them that that was what was missing in their lives. And that unless they repent and got baptized they would not get the gift of the Holy Spirit. A few days later they called Gimms and Barbara expressed her desire to get baptized. Prakash and Joyce counted the cost with them.

After thoroughly studying the Bible for one and a half years, and exploring every possible doubt and thought, Barbara got baptized on 30th Dec 2009! Eric wanted some more days and has committed to get baptized in a couple of weeks time.

God is great and His word never fails to bear fruit!! Glory Glory Hallelujah!!!
