Art photos of Cher from her 20th studio album, Heart of Stone along with the title track from the Heart of Stone CD. Including first edition cover art and more. With all the mess our country is in today, this song has more and more meaning to it every day.

Here is what Wikipedia has to say about the Heart of Stone CD.

Heart of Stone was released on June 19, 1989 and was the second for Geffen Records. Like on her previous album, Cher, Peter Asher, Jon Bon Jovi, Diane Warren, Guy Roche and Desmond Child performed songwriting and/or producing duties, Bonnie Tyler did backing vocals with Michael Bolton on Emotional Fire.
The album was recorded in late 1988/early 1989, during the third year of Cher's relationship to Rob Camilletti. She dedicated the album to him. The record it's still regarded by many fans as one of her best.
The album was originally released with cover artwork featuring Cher sitting in front of a heart made of stone, creating the illusion of a skull (see CHERsTyler's video). The artwork was changed shortly after its release, making copies with the original artwork collector's items.
Heart of Stone became Cher's biggest selling album at that time and peaked at #7 in UK and #10 in U.S. having sold over 11 million copies worldwide. [1]

Additional recordings
Cher recorded two other songs for the album "Don't Come Cryin' to Me" and "Some Guys" but neither made the final cut. A remixed version of "Don't Come Cryin' to Me" was included on the Geffen compilation album If I Could Turn Back Time: Cher's Greatest Hits. The reissue of the album, however, does not include the song. A demo version of "Some Guys" was included on the "If I Could Turn Back Time" 7 inch single.

Remixes
"Heart of Stone" and "If I Could Turn Back Time" were both slightly remixed and included those versions on the single. The "Heart of Stone" remix is available on CD on the compilation If I Could Turn Back Time: Cher's Greatest Hits issued by Geffen Records.

  • I love this song...but I've had this album since it was out, both on CD and on tape (yes, I'm that old) and this is not quite the same version. I've run into this with other songs as well...The Highwayman by Stevie Nicks comes to mind...and I have no idea why.

  • @mmaplexiii This is a remix of the song called i think the heartbeats version? something like that...glad you enjoyed it

  • i purchased this on vinyl when it came out way back when..had no clue that the cover had subliminal artwork til about a year later when a pal pointed it out to me...cds are great but NOTHING will ever compare to purchasing a vinyl lp with that fabulous artwork, and unwrapping the album and that particular aroma of the record and packaging...i was kid of the 70/80s vinyl was all i ever purchased , would not even buy a cassette..

  • @HollowLiquidProjects no you don't have to be gay to love this song this is one of her best songs. Also one of my favorites.
