I think some of you guys are confused with the fact that God knows these things. You guys think that appearence plays some huge role in what way God uses us. The bands Demon Hunter, RED, God uses them to change they're lives. God loves everyone in sin or not he loves us so much that his presence is here always. I Gods presence left everything we know would literaly fall apart and die.
I agree with mrrainpebble.. and naval8viatar.. i never said representation is not important.. Who are you to judge someone for how they look.. I personally don't care what the person looks like as long as they are filled with Christ. Just because he wears a hat and has a beard does not make him less Godly than anyone else.. It can actually help him identify with a certain generation.
"why are yo judging me?" you see guy im not justifing my sin AT ALL!!!! all im saying is it is not our place to judge him. wether his appearance during worship is right or wrong, its not for us to say... if smoking cigerettes is my biggest problem is my biggest problem... the way i see it is im sitting pretty good. as i strive to seek god in all things i have faith he will deliver me by his love and grace. ps i love this version haha
i lead worship at my church, i also have an addiction promblem with nicotine... basically i smoke cigarettes. its a sin, a nasty, smelly, disgusting sin. i dont try to hide it. any way i had a preacher from another church in my town walk up to my truck and he saw them. he looked at me an said "you lead worship and you smoke cigerettes?" i looked down in shame and said "yes, the church knows i do and i have ask for their forgiveness" then i said "your a preacher?" he nodded and said
27"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.
1 Peter 3:3Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair..... and fine clothes. Galatians 6:12 Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. Galatians 2:6 As for those who seemed to be important(whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not judge by external appearance)those men added nothing to my message.
Its not a big deal really. We just need to remember, as you said, that it is important how we present ourselves and our lives to the world as we bare the name of God.
