This is Charlie Hall leading a slow version of Marvelous Light, a spontaneous response to John Piper's message (Micah 7:8), closing off main session 4, on January 3rd.

I love this song so much, and this version sounds great. It's cool to hear fresh expressions of such an amazing song. I actually just did a studio full band cover of Marvelous Light and would love to hear what you think! It's on my channel, and it would mean a lot if you watched it and told me what I can improve. I'm trying to come more effective as a worship leader and could greatly benefit from your advice. I hope to hear from you soon!

hahahaha you'd think that maybe the crazy facial hair would stir up this ridiculous "controversial" topic of what a worship leader should "look" like... but no, its his hat =P hahaha if they hat distracts you from entering into worship with our Father, then close your eyes and meditate on the words as Charlie Hall leads us in worship. These lyrics are so powerful that I would hate for you to miss out because you are distracted by a hat.

the problems with half you christians is you see a hat and not a song or heart. shame on all of you. You are the only religion I see this bullshit!
You lost your hearts to stupid "Laws" just for the sake of being right. By being a so called "Child of God," you now can say whatever you want and be right. Funny thing is none of you never seem to be wrong. its always someone else. Hmm. Bet mister big beard hat man here has done more for god with his hat than you ever did! and will. shape up!

I think before worrying about other people wearing hats, you need to first check to see if there is something you might be missing. If you feel empty, maybe you have on the wrong shirt.

Is;28:10 "...For it is: Do and do, do and do, rule on rule, a little here, a little there." Charlie Hall is preaching the Gospel!!! I"m 56, no longer cool - go boy - GO!!! Christ didn't fit the Pharasies ideal of a messiah either. I don't think God looks at our appearance and judges, he looks in our heart to see if he is there. The Bible says "judge lest ye be judged". We had a dear friend taken from us last year by cancer. This song comforts me because it is my belief she has found the "Marvelous Light"...Thanks Charlie, keep the hat on if that helps you write meaningful music and testomony such as this.

@westviews1producer (continuing post up above) go home and read I Co. 11:4,7 ..... and was completely offended and hurt!here i am trying my best to go up there and play my heart out for God, and at the end someone just sees my hat and sees how i am dishonoring God??? If im wrong for feeling hurt and kinda slapped in the face please let me know, but from the little Bible i know, i dont recall our great commission or most important commandment being about condemning those with hats????

I help lead worship at my church, and i was recently addressed about the whole hat wearing deal..... after the service i was waling off stage and one of our members walked up and greeted himself. He was super friendly, and we talked for a little. Then before he left he handed me a piece of paper with some scripture on it and said "take it as you want brother" then walked away I was happy at first, i thought God was going to give me some words of encouragement (rough time in my life) .

At a very difficult time in my life, this song has given me the grace to hang on to God's victory and stand. Thank God for those who are willing to just give what God gives to them.

I'm not going to comment on whether or not wearing a hat is right or wrong. All I know is this song is anointed, and I'm going to worship God and enjoy His presence regardless.
