Posted a link to this thinking a few Joe fans would appreciate the lyrics. I got absolutely panned to death. This was on a forum for a singer songwriter who contributes on a regular basis.

Thanks for this. Meek inspired me to study recording engineering & production when I was younger. One of the greatest contributors to popular music to be sure. Shame about the speed - people didn't know better in those days. They just assumed that if you could buy it over the counter or obtain it by prescription that it had to be safe. All the Beatles took speed - and got Mr. Epstein hooked on it. Now we know that speed induces psychosis and causes all sorts of physical harm. Great song & video!

Nice one Jonathan am sure uncle Joe will be lapping this one up. Sounds a bit like Chucks Brown Eyed Handsome Man though is it intentional?

The count in at the start is my beloved arranger Johnny Arthey who recently passed away (far too young). I just saw the new documentary film about Joe. I'm rather pleased that I managed to get most of my experience with Joe into the lyric of one two minute song. I think Joe would approve.

Joe stood with one foot in the bath and stamped on the wooden floor outside it giving an echo thud to the drum effect!

Magnificent Arena special on Joe Meek from 1991 just repeated on BBC4 - terrific stuff.

Hey Bob tell us more! Joe was a genius - and, as I say in the song, really nice to me.
