Through A Blue Lens documents a year of life and death on the street and behind tenement walls. The striking thing about the film is not the horror of drug abuse but the story of how the interaction between the police and the drug addicts, with the camera as a catalyst, actually changed the people involved. The cops became more sympathetic to the people on the street and the drug addicts, in having friendship extended to them by the police and film makers, developed self esteem and, in some cases, actually cleaned up.

you are a supreme douchebag shiittalker. i know many people who have cleaned up from addiction, stepdad lived on east hastings for 12 years of his life, now hes a drug and alchohol counseller, my best friend was addicted to crack for 4 years, hes clean has his own place working full time now... %99.9 of these people WANT to clean themselves up, its just harder then someone with a brain as small as yours could imagine. how about you get addicted and then say its an easy process. fucking idiot.

Nichola is the reason why u should give money to the female pan handlers I know it sounds fucked that Im saying this but if you think about it She stopped prostituting and still has a habit to payfor she stopped the spread of aids and she is trying to get a better way of life it takes a while but the 1st step is the most important and the hardest to take. now she only has to stop the drug use and deal with her past regrets.
