I have a d5100, but cant do smthg like this, when i manually focus, either everything gets focussed or blurred. can some one tell me how to achieve this.

What is this option called where we blurr the background and focus on one object like you did here in this video. bckgrnd is blurr and pipes are the focus. How to do that in a camera while talking a photo ????????

while filming rotate the "ring" on the lens which is closest to the lens opening, thats called the manual focus ring :D
