http://timesofearth.com/Worldnews/?NT=0&nid=11004 CHILMARK, Massachusetts -- US President Barack Obama said on Wednesday he was heartbroken over the death of Senator Edward Kennedy, a pillar of the Democratic Party who he praised as an enormous force behind social programs that improved the lives of Americans.
Edward Kennedy was among the greatest modern-day U.S. senators and one of most "accomplished Americans" to serve democracy, President Obama said Wednesday.
Kennedy, who served as a senator from Massachusetts since 1962, died of brain cancer late Tuesday at his home. He was 77.
"The Kennedy name is synonymous with the Democratic Party," Obama said while vacationing in Chilmark, Mass. "(In) the United States Senate, I can think of no one who engendered greater respect or affection from members of both sides of the aisle. ... He could passionately battle others ... for the causes that he held dear, and yet still maintain warm friendships across party lines."
"And that's one reason he became not only one of the greatest senators of our time, but one of the most accomplished Americans ever to serve our democracy," Obama told reporters.
The president ordered flags flown at half-staff, and issued a proclamation from the White House saying in part: "Over the past half-century, nearly every major piece of legislation that has advanced the civil rights, health and economic well-being of the American people bore his name and resulted from his efforts. With his passing, an important chapter in our American story has come to an end. ... I hereby order ... that
the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels ... throughout the United States and its territories and possessions until sunset on Aug. 30."
He also ordered the flag at half-staff at all U.S. embassies, other diplomatic facilities and vessels at sea.

Would you die for a piece of cloth that we hang from a pole.
No because life is more important than killing people, Then dying after you kill other peoples father or husband or wife or son you are just taking away life which is more important than anything else.
And who are we doing this for, the government who don't do anything for anybody else but themselves.
We have enough pain in the world from natural disasters decimating country's. We don't need to be killing people for a piece of clo
