The modern German army is crap. It needs the US to fund much of its arsenal. It is also a fat army. The obesity level in the army is higher then the general population. Besides I cant ever see Germany being man enough to use their army again. The army in Afghanistan is cowards as well. They are notorious for calling in air strikes instead of investigating.

@TheSonOfDumb Type "NVA march" into the youtube search bar and watch a few of those videos and compare. There is no comparison, the NVA was more disciplined, better trained, and had more German pride than the bundeswehr could ever hope to have. The West Germans have created a culture of shame and war guilt, while East Germany rebuilt German pride. East Germany had its faults certainly, but neutering the population and army was not one of them.

It is small wonder why Germans are nostalgic for it
