Very brilliant and mystical scene from David Lynch's Blue Velvet. So many different emotions and feelings are felt when Dean Stockwell gives off his mysterious and provocative aura. This world is a place both wonderful and strange.

One of my absolute favorite parts. I herd of this movie by one of Marilyn Manson's interviews, I watched it and I am so glad I did, what a great movie.

I think Lynch arrived at the truly Southern US flavor of this scene in '86 unconsciously, which is how we works a lot, but he nails rural North Carolina to the wall only the way an insider could have. Brilliant scene on many levels.

David Lynch talked about how that work light Stockwell is holding was a complete accident, he was supposed to grab a lamp from a table or something. Catching the Big Fish is a great book on how Lynch works.
