  • Hey can you post a VID of you holding that fat boy, or at least comparing its SIZE to something!! My biometrics professor said that turtle is just waiting to be dissected. Xenopus Laevis is a model organism for simple genetics.

  • Sad to report all 9 frogs died last week within days of each other. I have no idea what happened after 4 and a half years of watching them grow. They all seemed to be very lethargic, almost in a coma, motionless, one at a time. Oddly enough, the largest frog with bloating disease was the LAST one to die. I thought I'd lose him last year, yet he was the last one. The biggest frogs were about 6 in long, 2.2 in wide. Thank you all for your responses.

  • It's called bloating disease, he's been like this over a year, very healthy though!!!

  • lol dats so funny

  • @winnie1212 They had bloating. It's a disease. that's why they were so fat.

  • It seems like the one who's really big has bloating disease. )8...

  • I only feed my frog once every three to four days. I used to have two that I would feed on a regular basis but one died within a couple months and since then I've only feed the frog blood worms every three or four days. He seems perfectly fine too. I just worry that people might feed these critters too much and assume its normal cause its written down somewhere. I think certain factors need to quantified.

  • why is one so fat?€

  • what size tank are they in?

  • @GiantEnemyCrab63 It has bloating disease

  • Possible reasons for death: too small of a tank: Ammonium levels increased water was changed enough for three frogs. Or you over fed them! Animals can die of obesity too.

  • @GiantEnemyCrab63 he keeps on eatng the other ones :)
