Patty is a native Texan who is passionate about home-grown vegetables, and encourages the use of sound, horticultural principles that will lead to gardening success. She earned a BS degree in Food and Nutrition from Texas Tech University. She is an active member of the Travis County Master Gardeners in Austin.

Regarded as one of Central Texas' expert vegetable gardeners, Patty contributes monthly articles to Texas Gardener Magazine, as well as the Travis County Master Gardener's monthly newsletter, The Compost Bin.
