  • It ain't just the powers that be - though it's a lot about that - but it's also us, the fans...how many of us are taking the time to go and find real rappers with a real positive message, and how many of us are just kicking back with whatever jam has a fly beat and some rapper with a lot of publicity?

The entire culture has to change, top to bottom...and the top won't change, they're making too much money selling anger and hate and violence to the hood - so it's on us as fans to do it!

I'm white, I listen to Pac, Biggy, Royce, 50, Em, Pdiddy, NAS, Proof, Nate Dogg, Snoop, Dre, ect.

It's not white people who destroyed it. It is the arrival of the new school rappers like soulja boy, drake, wayne, ect.

  • @Kraizer666 Thank you. Very true... It's scary how close your opinion is to mine. All of those rappers are the ones that I listen to as well. Thank god there is another one out there.

  • @youtubinitupmatthewj me too, he deserves to be paid in full cuz he aint no joke

  • @str8outtatexas1 exactly! the amount of times hip hop shifted from 79-99 didnt stop the music from being good

  • @ScrewMainstream69 actually old school is from 79-82, but it can also be till 86, gangsta rap started in 84 but didnt really surface till around 87/88, the bling bling era started in 97 and the great depression started in 2000....

  • corrupt greedy industry leaders killed it by trying to commercialize somthin that was never commercial , i live in da hood and ill tell you this .. the only people who like lil wane , drake etc are little kids with no education or people who dont know what hip hop is . If the major labels dont give us whats popular this could fall into a full scare cultural war . the media doesnt promote good music anymore and they exploit our own culture = that shits fucked up , good upload

  • Bring the fun back into hip-hop word

  • Rakim is such a legend he didn't even have to say the opposite of blue was red.. it's grey.

  • @jr5607 Well in some cases that is true based on what rappers you're talking about. Even then the difference are rappers from back then had skill, told a story, and weren't worried too much about who made the most money or got the nicest car. They feel the way they do about these new skoolers because alot of them are just arrogant punks with NO skill and just always talking about being rich. DMX for example is real, Rick Ross is a former C.O. turned gangsta? C'mon.
