Christmas Family Concert 17th Dec 2011 NAGOYA Ama City あま市 → http://www.williamsilk.com/events.php
Yessir! - The Cole Porter 1930s smash hit "I've Got You Under My Skin", that became Frank Sinatra's signature song, when Nelson Riddle re-arranged it in 1956 with that cool driving swing that builds in crescendos, like Ravel's Bolero, to the wild, out-of-control trombone solo, which brings the whole song to its urgent climax.
William Silk performs this Porter timeless classic, specially rearranged, with a fabulous big band of amateur musicians, evoking the era of Sinatra & Riddle, as well as the exciting live performances that Frank gave with the Count Basie Orchestra & Quincy Jones throughout the 60s. SilkyWilly would like to express his gratitude to the band and musical director for making such a compelling performance. We sincerely hope you enjoy watching it half as much as we enjoyed delivering it!
This video capture of the exciting SilkyWilly performance is uploaded today 12 Dec 2010 as tribute to Frank Sinatra on his Birthday.
♫ HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK! ♫ A Ring-a-ding-ding to you too sir!
