  • U seem totally blown away by the fact that asian food can taste so awesome. They have been around for centuries, what do u expect them to be any less than western cuisine?

No trying to be racist or anything, but I felt that the guy in this video was being rather rude to make asian food look bad.

It is NOT supposed to be eaten alone. I have no idea why some people eat the thing by itself. As a Singaporean chinese, I have never done that before.

What fools are there? Don't they know better?

  • First, I love S.E. Asian food. LOVE IT. At several Chinese restaurants in my town the owners love seeing me come in because they get to surprise me with whatever they feel like cooking for me, from chicken to intestines. They decide.

Second, all of my friends who eat century eggs eat them in congee OR sliced lengthwise as a snack.

Finally, the surprise I express in this video is because I have two other videos on YouTube where I tried century eggs and didn't like them, so I was very happy here

  • ^^ Thanks for the reply. That settled my nerves.

  • Happy to be of service. :D

  • oh man I clicked this and I thought, if you say this is gross then the whole you don't have to thing is a lie. xD.

cause I eat congee with preserved eggs from time to time and I think it's fine.

  • Plain, they're horrible. In congee, they're fantastic. :)

  • Hey Ben, I dare ya to try balut. Duck egg with an 18 week old duckling inside. Cook the duck egg for 30 min. Crack open the top of the egg and suck the juices out. Break open the rest of the shell and sprinkle on some fluer (sp?) de sel, just a touch. Do not eat the white cuz they're rock hard. Best eaten piping hot.
