Katie Piper Interview - BAFTA Awards 2011
As the vitcim of a brutal acid attack, the inspirational story of Katie Piper touched the lives of many people affected by disability and disfigurement. The BAFTA award winning documentary Kate: My Beautiful Face helped Katie to spread her positive message of hope and survival.

We caught up with Katie backstage after presenting an award at this year's BAFTA TV Craft awards. Katie talks about her follow up series Katie My Beautiful friends. She talked about what it's all meant to her and her ongoing charity work.

This is the face of courage and righteousness. She stands as witness to and example of thousands of other women, especially in India and the Middle East who suffer such attacks and must remain silent in their suffering. The big picture is male dominance and privilege and how wrong it is when it is sanctioned by tradition and lack of justice and equality. Male ownership of females and treatment of them as chattel. It's an old story that has not yet died. Thanks Katie, for standing up.
