Becuase he died about three weeks before their tour started.
And it obviously got him thinking about what fame can do to you.
He tought that Micheal was a great musician. So he did a snippet
of his songs between their songs. They often do that..

and looks like his voice is in perfect condition as well,looked a bit shaky on the first few nights,but as he said,the last 10 dates were just the rehearsals for the real thing.
