It seems like what's killing sales of music is overcompression, lack of analog mastering, no Hot album or site art or basic graphics, and the volume war. Albums need to be done by hand and mastered to analog again and decompressed to how they actually sounded from that era.
Great interview! PUNK is all about being honest about fans and selling records. The hype and bullshit about being the most popular band in the world just does not measure up to making that perfect album that is going to sellout and make a band or artist $10,000 off a first pressing. Those are the root business principles I miss about PUNK. I also miss the A and R and how each band really had the best design and Hits without it getting too Contemporary. Albums were art including the typeface.

I also miss the showbusiness behind it. I just watched a collection of Magazine videos from Secondhand Daylight. Great style!
