It's called pareidolia. The human brain is hard-wired to interpret patterns in a particular way, especially items relevant to it like faces.
This doesn't look like a face at all ------> :-)
And yet people would recognise 2 or 3 lines as a different human expressions, even though they look nothing like the real thing.

It's just a mountain that looks like a face because of photographic distortion. The new images look nothing like a face.
All those black dots are just missing data points.

Sure it's possible, I strongly beleive in intellignet life elsewhere. And what a cool concept, but uh, I don't think there is a giant face on Mars with pyramids around it. This mystery is relatively easy to ultimaltey prove or disprove. Many have already disproven it to a large extent. An oddly shaped rock formation that tricks the light, with some uniform rocks around it. I would love to believe otherwise. Perhaps they are wrong, and we will have Roswell, Mars. I strongly doubt it though.

Saw on the news last night about Stephen Hawking's theort on alien life form from space are going to hostile and it also mentioned that this is fake, after they did more analysis on the photo the face disappeared.
