@quitaskinme he did that this year against dallas in the preseason against barry church, he didn't spear him though, it was a pretty textbook tackle (rivers played linebacker in high school so he'd done that before)

it was darren sproles fumble, returned something like 70 yards to the 5 yard line before rivers got him, amazingly, none of the cowboys in convoy wanted to block rivers ( maybe to be respectful of the fact that it's preseason or maybe they thought he wouldn't tackle the guy)

Either in 2004 or 2005 in a preseason game he tackled a defender at the 1 yard line and prevented the defensive touchdown. Infact he kind of picked the defender up in a spear type motion. Could you ask him who that player was and what team he was on? Ive been looking for a video or article and can't find anything but 110% it happend.
