  • This is "Skylink" at the DFW International Airport. As others have already noted, it's not a monorail. Each car rides on air inflated wheels like those of a truck or auto and it gets its power from a single guidance track mounted in the center of the train's bed. The biggest improvement over the old system is that the concrete bed is heated in the winter with an internal system when needed to prevent freezing.

  • Is this the Airport Transit?

  • True; it's not a monorail. It's an AGT system.

  • I have a GPS track of that shuttle -- looks like a four-level snowman, and the complete circuit takes about twenty minutes.

  • Lol, thats not true monorail, its more like an electric bus with a energized guide-rail. There is a similar system at Denver International Airport. Still cool though.
