THE ROYAL Burgh of Annan echoes to the sounds of band music on the first Saturday in July.
A Pipe Band competition, featuring musicians from around the UK, is followed by a parade on the High Street -- a highlight of the annual Riding of the Marches celebrations in the town, situated close to the Scotland - England border.
The breathtaking evening ceremonies, which attract thousands of visitors, conclude with the local pipe bands playing a selection of popular tunes in harmony with the town's brass band in what has become known as 'Annan Pipes and Brass.'
Our cameras were on hand to capture the atmosphere of the event in summer 2010.
