Missing: A camp rock Story

Tess smirked. Everything was going according to plan. Mitchie was being humiliated and Tess was loving it. “ How about you just do us all a favor and leave,” Tess said. Mitchie turned around and looked at Tess, her eyes full of regret. Tess actually felt guilty for a moment. “ If that’s what you want, I’d be happy to oblige” Mitchie said. With that said she walked away. The campers stood there confused by what she said. Caitlyn looked like she was about to strangle Tess. Jason and Nate came out, wondering what the commotion was about.

“What happened?” Nate asked once he got there. “ We don’t really know,” Peggy said. What they didn’t know was that Mitchie was packing essential things to survive in the wilderness. She snuck into the kitchen grabbing 3 loaves of bread, some cheese, peanut butter, and some chocolate chip cookies. It wasn’t a lot but she thought she would be able to live off of it. She wrapped it up in a large handkerchief, wrapped the end with a twisty so nothing would fall out, and tied it to a stick. She slung it over her shoulder and continued her way to the camping supplies cabin.

She opened the door to the cabin and grabbed a wagon. She put in a few packs of matches, several cans of bug spray, some wood, a tent, sleeping bag, several extra blankets, a pillow, a rain cover which she would put over her tent if it were to rain to block out the rain. She hid the food and the wagon behind a bush.

She scribbled a note to her mom and Caitlyn. She left them on their beds. She packed her things and moved them out of Tess’s cabin and into her mom’s. She left them on her bed where she knew her mom could see them. She looked at her stuff sadly. She knew she would come home. Just at the end of camp.

She let a tear fall from her eye. She grabbed her cell phone. She also grabbed her food and wagon. She walked towards the woods and stopped at the edge of the woods. She turned back to look at the camp. She looked it over once before turning and leaving. She frown and muttered, “goodbye Camp Rock”. With that, she turned and walked into the woods.

During that time the campers had stood around for five minutes before giving up on trying to find out what she met and gone to the mess hall for dinner. Caitlyn had ran to her cabin to see if Mitchie was there. She saw not Mitchie but a note on her bed. She walked over and read it. It said:

Caitlyn I want to thank you for always being there for me. You have been an awesome friend and always stood by me even when I lied to you. You were my best friend and I can’t thank you enough for that. I wish I could have told you in person but you would have stopped me. I know you would have. I left a note for my mom too. I’m probably a good distance away from camp by now so there is no point in trying to find me. I ran away because that is what everyone wanted me to do. I’ll hopefully be back on the last day of camp, but only when my mom is leaving and I’ll just simply leave camp with her that day. Just realize that even though I lied, I’m not a liar. That’s not me. Every minute you spent with me, you were with the real Mitchie, not the fake one I created to please Tess and be popular. I hope you’ll forgive me for leaving and my cell is at the bottom of the note. I have it so call any time. Again, I’m sorry.

Caitlyn ran as fast as she could to the mess hall. She burst through quickly getting everyone’s attention.
“ Mitchie is missing!” Is what came out of her mouth.
