According to Ibn Sad, the opposition in Mecca started when Muhammad delivered verses that condemned idol worship and the Meccan forefathers who engaged in polytheism. Fazlur Rahman writes Following the emigration, the Meccans seized the properties of the Muslim emigrants in Mecca. It was after this that raids were done because Meccans had the muslims properties . SO STOP YOUR DAMN LIES!!

I urge you and everyone here reading this to research the historical circumstances of the Treaty of Hudaybiyah. When criticized for signing a deal with Israel in 2002, Yasser Arafat addressed the Palestinian Legislative Council saying "remember the treaty of Hudaybiyah".

For those who know Islamic history, this is a euphemism for giving false promises until strength can be accrued to renege and resume warfare.

Please read the works of the great Arab historian Al-Waqidi: Muhammad's first real successful raid occurred in January of 624 outside of Nakhla which is what caused the Meccans to fight him.

Ibn Ishaq tells us how Muhammad beheaded the Quraiza Jews & sold them to slavery.

Now "compare" this to the life and teachings of Jesus and you'll have the full understanding of hypocrisy. And BTW, your Luke 19:27 example does not quote Jesus but the merchant in the story. Nice try.

I don't know why Muslims can't engage a debate on Islam's tendencies for violence without making comparisons to Christianity.

And on the topic of the Meccan persecution of Muhammad and the early Muslims, you do understand that Muhammad was conducting raids on their merchant trades routes which would yield a military response from any society, right? Muhammad routinely used rouses and dishonored treaties to further his imperial enterprise.
