ABM has become the first of the new Health Boards in Wales to be a given national award for training its staff.
The Health Board has been awarded the Welsh Assembly Governments Basic Skills Employer Pledge award in recognition of a continued commitment to basic skills in the workplace by providing learning opportunities for staff. ABM is the first of the newly merged Health Boards in Wales to be given the award.
It was officially handed over by Basic Skills Cymru Director Tony Schiavone at an event which saw some of the very latest learners recognised for their work.
He said:
We can all improve our skills if people help us and show us the way.
Learning improves people and organisations in so many ways. For example, staff are less likely to be absent and are more willing to take on more tasks.
