  • Does this seem sped up just a tad..? The real demo seem's to be just a tiny bit slower. It sounds more natural than this.

  • no it isn't, why would i want to speed it up, maybe youtube fucks up the quality a tad, but still it doesn't have anything to do with the actual speed.

  • sweet post, i love it!!!!!!!!!! 5/5

  • hehehe thank you... who wouldn't love cynic :)

  • I'd love to hear this in the sound quality of the Focus album...

Fucking awesome, though I like the more progressive and softer sound of the Focus album and the new stuff.

  • I really wish Cynic would have kept playing in this style, I really don't dig the vocoder shit on all their newer stuff. I know people say that they're so much more original now that they do that but even this stuff is original in the realms of old school death metal. The only bands I can think of that play up to this level are Atheist and Death who are two of the most original bands in death metal.

  • @747823 Yes, that's why I want to hear it in the sound and production quality of Focus.

Or do you mean that the sound quality of Focus sucks? I'd have to disagree with that :D

  • @fredmachine Seriously? The sound quality on this sucks...

  • @sytraxiplague i can hear it, but it's subtle. Could be the transfer from the original casette. Casette players are mechanical, so it's possible they don't all play at the EXACT same speed

  • Awesome, Masdival voice sounds like Chuck Schuldiner

  • @Blasphemialeb The demo was this fast. And I liked this version too just a bit more than the focus version. It was like Death meets Watchtower. Just awesome...

  • @ConvokedDemon cynics Focus and Traced In Air albums are completley different than this and beat euro metal in my opinion. you should listen to focus or traced in air

  • Sounds so much like Death's "Human" album. haha

  • I remember enjoying this version better than what would be the album version. This is the same version issued on the At Death's Door 2 comp isn't it?

  • Wow, this has nothing on European metal.

  • I also have this on cassette, but it's a copy of the original (taped from another tape or CD). It has a (or one of) Pyrexia demo on the other side. I don't know where it is and haven't heard it in years, but it was pretty straightforward death metal, insofar as vocals and speed; it didn't sound much like what they did on Focus. It was heavier, faster, and all growl. The transfer may have "sped it up" some. Thx for the upload!
