These firemen/women are volunteers. The fact that this fire occurred during the week, in the middle of the day, and it may have only taken them 10-15 minutes to get there is a phenomenal response time. I have only the utmost respect and admiration for these volunteers.

Don't worry ma'am...there will be non-paid, volunteer firefighters there in minutes who will be going inside despite you cursing at them and eventually one of them will get trapped, call out a mayday, and get burned trying to save your shit.

Oh i see well i suppose that inin that cade its better to use volunteer firefighters i live i the netherlands and some city's here have volunteers as well. But i wrote that because in this case it took some time for the first engine to arrive at the scene i did not mean to say that the firefighters are bad or anything i have great respect for firefighters

@mryjn1020 Ppl dont no or care about the response... They should get with their local politicians 2 get a fire dept started... My Department has paid and we also have some Volunteers... The truth is U may not see them for months, so these ppl r LUCKY!!!!

Not much to add other than these people are a bunch of ignorant assholes. Our fire station is staffed with 16 firefighters and is fully volunteer. This means that at any givin time a majority of us are 10mins or more from the station. Then we have to get to the fire scene.

@marcelrotgans Then feel free to donate your hard earned money to the local towns to be able to afford to pay firefighters to staff the station 24/7/365. The reason communities use volunteer fire departments is because they can't afford to staff stations with paid firefighters.

Not one of these idiots made any effort to knock on doors to alert the occupants, all they did was stand around and complain. Many good comments on volunteering, that's the best way to have a say in your FD and help protect your town if they're volunteer.

if you want a fireman in the house 24/7 dont bitch when ur taxes are raes 30 percent because u dont wana pay we guta have reg jobs to survive some dept only got a handful of firefighters and it might take them 5 min to get there and it could be 10 min away from station how bout u go and sit there or do u guta work

Here is a genius concept. Not happy with how your local FD works? DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND VOLUNTEER. If you arent willing to help, then just shut the fuck up and stop whining.

@mryjn1020 this video is a perfect example of the citizens not having a clue about thier fire dept or how it works , most of them dont wanna know till thier is fire , then expect them there immediately, so as many have said , these cows got nothing better to do than bitch abouit something they obviouly know nothing about,sad state of affairs in this country when its easier to bitch than do something , like VOLUNTEER AT U LOCAL FIRE DEPT
