  • when the storm made land fall it was 9 miles per hour short of a cat 3. not sure what kind of cover up you are talking about, but many people lost there lives and many more went missing in the water probably never to be seen again. It is a very serious and somber situation.

  • @MaxWatt1 no cover up.. they wouldnt let those annoying people called journalists in because the airspace was martial, and blackhawks have enough to worry about with debris and spotting the dead and dying than to dodge the media. we have a saying here, 'hide from wind, run from water' the wind was mid cat 2, but the storm surge was mid cat 3. at my cabin we were 8 foot above waterline, added 9 foot pylons and waves washed over deck. try to imagine 14-17 foot deep water.. it was a mess.

  • thats y people who think aliens have landed, ghost are talking to us or people who take the bible literally should have a tracking device placed on them and fed chocalate all day. i want them tracked and mal nurished so i can fend off large numbers.

  • "Texas has the best government in the US."

Really? Have you lived in all fifty states? Or are you just pulling that one out of thin air? And we are first in pollution. Prison rates. Children without healthcare. Child poverty. Of course, we elected George Bush and Rick Perry, so we asked for it, I suppose. And you seem to be asking for more of the same. Count me out, brother.

    Even Texas is changing...thank goodness!

    Proud Progressive! Proud Texan!

  • I used to go their with my mom and step dad to do some good cat fishing, Hurricane Ike sucked, I had to celebrate my 19th b-day that morn after it hit, i did however like playing in the wing that morn lol

  • Texas has the best government in the US. WHy do liberals insist aliens took the residents lol! You guys need to stop watching the star track reruns. Enough is enough. The liberal media is the problem. They make the clean up harder and try to make texas look like a disaster area. Aint gonna work libs, maybe in a northern state, but not down here.

  • Excellent report. Probably better than the Houston stations.......from a journalism teacher.

  • If you look on google earth you will see it is an island only way on is the road where the bridge was out they showed or the ferry. The Media got private citizens to boat them over very risky from all the damage floating in Galveston Bay!!! However there are many missing, with out power it is hard to find them. They are going on the other side of the Bay to chamber county today where most stuff from Bolivar washed over there. We will know more in the days and weeks to come.

  • So is there yet another cover up going on?

We heard over here in europe that the storm was downgraded from a 4 to a 2/1 hurricane.

    What say ye?
