TEDxOjaiWomen - Gloria M. Miele, PhD - What I've Learned Being A Girl Scout

Gloria Miele, Ph.D., is a Girl Scout leader who has learned many lessons from guiding, mentoring and teaching girls to be independent, engaged members of the community. She talks about the lessons she's learned about service, leadership and self-confidence in Girl Scouting and beyond.

Bio:
Gloria has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and is on the faculty of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She has spent the better part of her 25-year career helping women reach their goals. Over the past five years, she has become a "strengths zealot," spreading the word about the power of applying positive psychology and a focus on strengths to live a more productive, engaged and satisfying life. She is the owner of Optimal Development Coaching, a business consulting and training firm in Southern California.


In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
