My dad had a diesel powed elepant back in the early fifties!! Not as big as that, more life size and it "walked" on its legs using non return rollers in the feet. It used to work on Maldon prom, Essex, UK. I have no idea what happened to it. :-(

Looks awesome but I actualy hoped it would be walking instead of rolling with some limbs floating around..
