  • so why are you doing this???

  • @geoff390 Im making the robin 7.5hp electric start since it nearly rips my arm out trying to pull start it every time. Im going to put the 7.5 on the kart with a belt tensioner clutch. So key start and a clutch pedal. Gonna be awesome.

  • @brendonv101 ahk i think i was pissed and didnt watch the whole video.hahaha

  • @geoff390 Thats not like you Geoff XD Hey would u happen to no how much hp it takes to turn over a starter motor ruffly? Coz im running my starter motor with a pulley so it will always be engaged. When its not starting the engine it will just be turning over by the engines power. Dunno how much hp that will take.

  • @brendonv101 Dont think it would be much if its just free spinning but starters draw a lot of amps from the batteries. Yea the bearing would be an interferance fit, i would try to support it in close underneath and hit the end with a copper hammer to bang it through.

One more thing add a teaspoon actually tablespoon of concrete and harden up and just pull the motor over :P

  • @geoff390 Yer the whole amps thing im worried about since im running it off a motorcycle battery (15A). Its more the coolness and practicality of it. I can just sit in my kart n go, i dont have to spend 5 mins starting it all the time. Im thinking of putting a 250cc motorcycle engine on it instead.

  • 6:02 I believe its just called the clutch, for someone who went into this without knowing how to dissasemble a starter completely u didnt do half bad, keep up the good work though and sorry for previous i comment i realized you discovered your mistake with the solenoid lol

  • the solenoid should alwasy be removed first.

  • the gear is called a bendixs

  • so does the actual motor separate from that cast bit in one whole piece?

  • put a body on the car

  • is called a bendex

  • u should switch to linux far more superior
